Fulham Victorian ‘Upside Down’ Flat

This ‘upside down’ Victorian flat in Fulham, West London, was thoughtfully transformed from a collection of dated spaces into a cohesive, character-rich home that celebrates both original architectural heritage and our clients’ love of colour. With an emphasis on enhancing the charm of a period property while improving daily functionality, every design decision was anchored in respect for the building’s history and the needs of contemporary life. As part of the build, we configured spaces, added a loft extension and a rear ‘pod’ extension. It was very important to the clients that the new build rooms felt in keeping with the original property.

Working closely with the clients, the project began with a sensitive approach to space planning, preserving the flat’s inherent Victorian proportions and original features wherever possible. Rich textures, heritage-inspired details and a considered palette were used throughout to reinforce the home’s character, while bespoke elements and refined finishes introduce warmth, comfort and timeless elegance.
