I have a particular passion for period properties and specialise in sensitive renovations, respecting the architectural heritage of your home.

I listen very carefully to you so that the end result, is a home that is not only practical and functional, but also feels meaningful and personal to you. Maureen Gomez Interiors, bathroom design

Maureen was integral to the full renovation of our Victorian property that we rent out fully furnished. Before the work started, it had the bleakness of a student flat with magnolia walls and Ikea furniture. Maureen completely transformed it by focussing on the original Victorian features and making them the centre of attention in each of the rooms. She selected heritage colours for the paintwork which has given the property a sense of opulence and sophistication. She also taught us how to source vintage and antique lighting, rugs and furniture that reflected the heritage of the apartment and elevated it into a unique rental experience. She also designed gorgeous window treatments. Everyone who stays there comments on the style and beauty of the place. I highly recommend Maureen's interior design services.

Maureen has given our kitchen/dining/living room a stylish scheme and turned what was once a bland and stark space into a warm and inviting place by creating zones within the room, introducing elegant pieces such as a coffee table, rug and plants in stylish pots, designing bookshelves to include our favourite books, family photos and trailing plants. Maureen is a wonderful interior designer. She designed our son's bedroom, our master bedroom and hallway, stairs and landing. When she came for the site visit, she immediately started to come up with ideas for furniture layouts and storage solutions that hadn't even occurred to us. Her designs were just gorgeous with especially lovely ideas for lighting, wall colours, artwork and rugs. She did all of the measuring up to make sure everything fitted perfectly and hung artwork and styled all of the rooms beautifully. I will hire here again in the near future to design other rooms.

A Passion for Period Homes

Wherever possible, I aim to preserve, restore or reinstate period features as they are what define a heritage property.

Plasterwork, fireplaces, picture rails, panelling, historic flooring, ironmongery and sash windows are details that add to your home’s charm and character.

In some cases, original features may have been removed during previous renovations. I can advise on reinstating them and when making alterations, I will incorporate these original features into the plans to create a unique home which celebrates its heritage.

How I can work with you

I offer design services London and the surrounding areas. I will work in collaboration with you, your builder and your architect to transform your home. You can decide the level of involvement you would like me to have in your project.

Alternatively, I offer bespoke and personal remote design services and a design consultation service.
