Our client came to us as she embarked on a full renovation and extension of her Edwardian home. While the new extension introduced a contemporary architectural language, it was important that the character and charm of the original property were not lost. The house itself felt tired and dated, with a layout that no longer suited modern family life, lacking both functionality and comfort.
Our brief was to create a home that felt cohesive and timeless, seamlessly blending old and new. We designed a bespoke traditional kitchen and selected heritage-inspired tiles to soften the contemporary extension and ensure it sat comfortably alongside the original house. Throughout the home, we introduced authentic period details, including original-style hallway tiles, reclaimed-style timber flooring, decorative plasterwork, bespoke joinery, custom upholstery and a mix of antique and contemporary lighting and furniture. The result is a warm, elegant home, that honours its Victoian roots and embraces how my client wishes to live.
