Maureen Gomez Interiors is a West London based Interior Design Studio with a passion for ensuring that a sympathetic approach is taken to period property renovation and restoration.
I believe in finding a balance between accentuating the charm and character of historic properties, while creating modern and functional homes which reflect the owner’s personality.
Unique homes full of character
I come from a Fine Art background and colour, texture and lighting are key in every design. I consider how every surface is treated to enhance the space and create a layered feel.
I love creating spaces that feel as though they evolved over time. My aesthetic leans toward traditional, sometimes with a sprinkling of Mid-Century Modern design.
However, every design develops from listening very carefully to the needs, desires and tastes of my client. Your home should not only be practical and functional, but also reflect you and your lifestyle. I will work closely with you to create a design direction that suits you.
My approach to Original Features in Period Properties
I have a deep love for architecture, original features and the heritage of old buildings. The first thing I do when I enter a period property is look for period features. They are what define a heritage property, so it is essential to protect these when making changes or to consider reinstating them where possible. I will take all of the unique features of your property into consideration in my designs, and give advise on how best to enhance or restore the heritage of your property.
Panelled walls, picture rails, cornicing, fireplaces, historic flooring, light fittings, ironmongery and sash windows; these details really add to the character and even the value of your home
In some cases, they may have been removed by previous owners who took a less sympathetic approach to renovation. When making alterations, I take care to incorporate these original features into the plans to create a unique home which celebrates its heritage.

If you are looking for an interior designer in Hammersmith and surrounding areas, I can work onsite with you offering full-service design, to create spaces which truly reflect the vision you have for your period home. If you live further afield, I also offer an hourly consultancy service and a bespoke remote design service also known as E-Design.
Services include re-configuring existing spaces, project managing, lighting, colour-consultation, fixtures and finishes and sourcing furniture and decoration both contemporary and vintage or antique. I am happy to take on one room, one floor or the entire property.
